This is my first blog because I hate it but the team want me to do it.
Another day on the road for me, today we are running six and a half miles times two which equates to 51 miles as a team. We started in the middle of knowhere in Tennessee. The morning was quite cold and foggy but after a while it brightened up and became hot. Jobbo ran first after his 10 day vacation. No sign of a bad hip today due to the fact that he lept into the safety vehicle to escape a dog attack.
I think about the cause and I know we are doing a great job but I miss my wife and kids alot. After my first run I found time to catch some rays. The police came round in a squad car and asked me to put on more clothes or get in the RV. This may have been a fair one as I was wearing some very tight shorts that the rest of the team mock me for.
The miles are taking their toll on my body, energy is not a problem but my knees are suffering. At least if I end up in a wheelchair I will have done it my way. We are now heading for Memphis and it is my day off tomorrow. I am thinking of getting an IPod to make the miles go quicker.
The food is getting better since the arrival of Caroline. Two more Royal Marines are joining the team so I will be surrounded by them as the only Army Commando on the team. Let’s see if these Royal Marines’ admin is as good as the others.
I have run everyday so far and only had my allocated days off, alone with Chunks the USMC rep (WO1 RSM and cool bloke) and Mark. We don’t have a handbike, blisters or a bad hip that require additional days off!
